Orioles Trump Guardians, 3-1
|
The Cleveland Guardians were defeated, 3-1, by the Baltimore Orioles at Progressive Field, even though Nick Wise pitched well for Cleveland. Baltimore reliever Dan Lunnen picked up the win, raising his record to 6-2. Nick Wise was tagged with the loss. Tim Huntress nailed down his 22nd save.
Baltimore used the hitting of Jeremy Leon to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Orioles on top, 3-0. For the game, Leon had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Leon told the Baltimore Today.
The second-place Orioles bumped their record to 72-63.
