Astros Suffer 3-2 Setback
|
The Seattle Mariners took Houston pitcher Jon Cook's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Minute Maid Park. The final score had Seattle getting past the Astros, 3-2. Cook went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 2. Ernie Lydon earned the save, his 2nd. Seattle currently is in first place in the American League West Division at 88-47.
The Mariners got a big at-bat from second baseman Rob Brady, who in the top of the fifth hit a run-scoring double. It was his 34th double of the season and put the Mariners on top, 3-0.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Brady.
