Late Offense Lifts Minnesota to 6-4 Victory
|
The game between Minnesota and Cleveland is in the books, despite a little rain.
Vince Aristondo was instrumental in his team's 6-4, extra-inning triumph over the Cleveland Guardians. The second baseman was 3-5 with 2 doubles. He scored 3 times for the Minnesota Twins. Joel Kull snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 1.2 innings. He's now 7-10 on the season. The save went to Vince Moellering, number 1 for him.
Aristondo had a game-changing double in the top of the 11th. On a 1-0 fastball from Drew Goodwin, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the Twins a 5-4 lead. It was the 2nd double of the year for Aristondo.
Aristondo told a Minnesota Bulletin reporter that he felt "relieved" after the win.
Minnesota, now 73-64, holds down second place in the American League Central Division.
