Texas turned a good performance from starting pitcher Alex Lopez into a 7-1 triumph over the Los Angeles Angels at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The Rangers, at 72-65, sit in first place in the American League West Division.

John Parry had a big bases-clearing double for the Rangers in the bottom of the third inning. With Texas leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Ismael Rangel and swatted a double to right. It was his 25th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rangers ahead, 5-1.

"Got a lot of swings and misses today," said Lopez.
