Padres Suffer 2-0 Loss to Brewers
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Milwaukee Brewers and the San Diego Padres, 30-year old left-handed pitcher Cole May proved to be the difference. The Milwaukee left-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-0 Brewers win. In 7 innings, May surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. The third-place Brewers improved to 77-59.
The Brewers got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Josh Valencia. For the game, Valencia was 1-2 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 23rd home run of the season gave Milwaukee a 1-0 lead.
"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Valencia.
