Red Sox Deal Orioles 3-1 Defeat
|
Both offenses were relatively subdued at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Fortunately for the Boston Red Sox, though, Mark Fasciana was able to deliver in the clutch. He went 2-3 with a home run and a double, to lead his team past the Baltimore Orioles, 3-1. Scott Duree closed the door for Boston, picking up his 28th save of the year. The third-place Red Sox improved to 67-71.
Ricky Manrriquez had a direct impact on the outcome. Manrriquez contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Boston up, 2-0.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Fasciana told the Boston Daily News.
