Los Angeles registered a win at Minute Maid Park by beating the Houston Astros, 5-2. Pitcher Fred Szilagyi was one reason why the Angels triumphed. Szilagyi, now 6-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Los Angeles raised its record to 75-62 with the win.

Los Angeles used a clutch at-bat from Conor Long to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Angels ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Los Angeles skipper Matt Moore.
