The Oakland Athletics took on the Texas Rangers at O.co Coliseum.

The Oakland Athletics defeated the Texas Rangers, 6-3, at O.co Coliseum. Oakland left fielder Blake Zobel had a superb performance. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Oakland pitcher John Wilson got the win. He's now 12-9. Nick Palmer was tagged with the loss. Jesus Rivera was credited with the save for Oakland, his 11th of the season.

With Oakland leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Zobel hit a fastball from Nick Palmer for a 2-run home run. It was his 24th home run of the season and put the Athletics ahead, 3-0.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Zobel.

The victory gives Oakland a record of 74-64.
