Yankees Lose By a Run at Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Angels picked up a win at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, knocking off the New York Yankees, 7-6. On the mound for Los Angeles was right-hander Chad Crum. He played a key role in the triumph. Mike James earned the save, his 27th in 32 tries. Los Angeles is now 69-70, New York 63-75.

Steve Simon had a big bases-clearing double for the Angels in the bottom of the third inning. With Los Angeles leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Chris Williams and swatted a double to left. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Angels ahead, 6-2.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Simon. "It sure beats the alternative."
