Mariners Handed 3-2 Loss by Los Angeles
|
Los Angeles picked up a win at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, toppling the Seattle Mariners, 3-2. Pitcher Gustavo Vasquez was one of the reasons the Angels triumphed. The winning pitcher was Vasquez, now 7-8. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Despite the win, the Angels have a lousy 36-102 record.
The Angels got a big at-bat from catcher Randy Valdez. For the game, Valdez went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 3-0 lead.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Seattle skipper Jamie Clark, "and it cost us."
