The Cincinnati Reds took Chicago pitcher John Ross's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Wrigley Field. The final score had Cincinnati getting past the Cubs, 2-1. Ross went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 5. The Reds are now 92-47, while the Cubs fall to 83-56.

Cincinnati used the timely hitting of Greg Jenniferl to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Reds on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Jenniferl told the Cincinnati Daily.
