Antonio Mejia impressed in the 4-2 Atlanta win over New York. Mejia was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Atlanta pitcher Ted Crockett got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Dave Baldwin got the loss. Tim Pye picked up the save, his 33rd.

Mejia contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Atlanta in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Mejia took a sinker from Dave Baldwin and stroked the home run to left-center. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Braves to leap in front, 3-2.

Mejia attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
