Blue Jays Topple Yankees, 11-4, as Rivera Shines
Vic Rivera was instrumental in his team's 11-4 triumph over the New York Yankees. The first baseman went 3-5 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Toronto Blue Jays. Jose Herrera, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 4.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Toronto, now 78-63, holds down first place in the American League East Division.

Toronto used the hitting of Zack Baize to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 3-2. For the game, Baize had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said New York manager Mike Hanson.
