The Houston Astros met little resistance from the Los Angeles Angels, beating them, 12-2, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Hideyuki Takahashi led the way. Houston used a clutch at-bat from Mike Darling to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Astros ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
