5-1 Win Takes Rockies to 77-64
|
Good production from left fielder Francisco Torres helped the Colorado Rockies topple the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-1. Torres was 3-5 with 3 singles for the Rockies. Victor Gonzales snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 3.1 innings. He's now 5-0 on the season. Milwaukee, at 54-87, has lost 4 straight.
Hans Cabedo had a big 2-run home run for the Rockies in the top of the fourth inning. With Colorado leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from former first round draft pick Ray Dunham and punished it. The result was his 31st home run of the season, which put the Rockies on top, 4-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Colorado skipper Trevor Taka.
