Guardians Hand Baltimore 5-2 Loss
|
Cleveland Guardians right-hander Matt Mattingly pitched a good game against the Baltimore Orioles at Progressive Field, leading his team to victory, 5-2. Picking up his 27th save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Pablo Iglesias. Cleveland is now 68-74.
J.J. Kirby, who leads the AL with a .428 on-base percentage, came through for Cleveland with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the seventh. The right fielder went 2 for 3 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 runs batted in.
"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Mattingly.
