Reds Victorious at Texas, 5-2
|
The Cincinnati Reds topped the Texas Rangers, 5-2, with first baseman Adam Powers playing a big role. Powers went 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Reds in the win. At 80-62, the Reds are currently second in the National League Central Division.
Cincinnati took a 4-2 lead on Powers's 29th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Aaron Jackson in the top of the eighth, propelled Cincinnati to the win.
"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Powers.
