The Minnesota Twins did just enough to sneak past the Tampa Bay Rays, 4-3, at Jon Nunez Sr. Stadium. Minnesota pitcher Andres Rubio, in particular, had a standout performance. Adrian Tipton earned save number 9 this season. The second-place Twins lifted their record to 80-62.

Minnesota used the hitting of Juan Herrera to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Twins on top, 2-0. For the game, Herrera had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Andres throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Minnesota manager Chris Greuling.
