Guardians Pull Out Late-Game Win, 6-5
|
Dave Steinhart led Cleveland to a win over Baltimore. The final score was 6-5. The Ames, Iowa native collected 4 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 3 doubles. The win went to Drew Goodwin in relief, making him now 6-5. Tim Huntress took the loss for Baltimore. The win puts the Guardians at 69-74, while the Orioles drop to 80-63.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Cleveland trailing 5-4, Steinhart hit a cutter from Matt Olson for a 2-run double. In the blink of an eye, the Guardians had a walk-off win.
"This wasn't a good win," said Steinhart. "It was a great win."
