Morrison Powers Dodgers to 8-4 Win
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates, 8-4, at PNC Park. Los Angeles was led by 27-year old right fielder Dan Morrison, who was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Alejandro Lozano was the winner in relief. His record is now 5-7. The losing pitcher was Marcelino Ramires. After today's action, Los Angeles sits at 71-72, while Pittsburgh falls to 84-59.
With Los Angeles leading 5-0 in the top of the sixth, Morrison came up to bat against Pittsburgh pitcher Tyler Chargois. Morrison hit a sinker to right for a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Dodgers on top, 8-0.
"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Los Angeles manager Giovanni Ciotti.
