Alvarez Helps Royals Beat Yankees, 7-2
Kansas City third baseman Antonio Alvarez was instrumental in helping the Royals triumph, 7-2, over the New York Yankees. Alvarez was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The Royals now own a record of 92-54.

With Kansas City leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Alvarez hit a sinker from Chase Gifford for a 3-run home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the Royals ahead, 6-1.

"Winning is contagious," said Alvarez. "We're looking forward to the next game."
