Cleveland turned a good effort from starter Matt Zmuda into a win over the Minnesota Twins at Target Field. The final score was 4-2. Zmuda, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. Matt Mattingly recorded the save, his 22nd.

Steve Redlin, who is on pace for 79 RBI this season, had a direct impact on the outcome. Redlin contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Cleveland up, 2-1.

"Matt had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Cleveland manager Hugo Gutierrez.

The Guardians improved to 58-86.
