5-2 Loss Extends New York Skid
The Texas Rangers picked up a win at Yankee Stadium, knocking off the New York Yankees, 5-2. On the mound for Texas was right-hander Tyler Gaskins. He played a key role in the triumph. Mike Poole earned the save, his 16th, for the Rangers. The last-place Yankees have lost 6 straight games.

Danny Rivera broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the fifth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Rangers in front, 3-2. For the game, Rivera went 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI.

"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Gaskins.
