The Cincinnati Reds stopped the Colorado Rockies, 5-1, behind an impressive performance from Jeremy Kennedy. The 25-year old catcher made life miserable for Colorado pitching. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. The Reds now have a mark of 82-62.

Javy Castaneda, who won the Ben Celeste Rookie of the Year Award in 2109, aided the Cincinnati cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second. For the game, the second baseman was 2-4 with 2 singles.

"That's how you're going to be successful," said Reds manager BJ Gorman. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
