Watson Sensational for Reds
|
Cincinnati took on St. Louis in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Michael Watson, in particular, was fantastic. The Cincinnati left-hander helped his team snag the win, 3-0. Cincinnati is now 88-56, St. Louis 77-68.
Watson, who dominated for Cincinnati, earned the victory to move to 13-6. He was in control the whole game, scattering 2 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 5. St. Louis batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"Michael was dictating to their hitters," said Cincinnati manager BJ Gorman.
