Rangers Lose at Home, 6-4
|
The Baltimore Orioles knocked off the Texas Rangers, 6-4, in American League action at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Baltimore pitcher and San Miguelito, Panama, native Tony Aguirre had an outstanding performance. Aguirre yielded 2 runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 8-12. Tom Eassson earned the save for Baltimore, his 4th of the year.
The Orioles got a big at-bat from first baseman Ramon Soto. For the game, Soto was 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 31st home run of the season gave Baltimore a 3-2 lead.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Aguirre. "Successful pitchers do it."
Baltimore is now 63-82, Texas 74-71.
