The San Francisco Giants went down to defeat to Justin Sorensen and his Chicago teammates. The final score was 6-1, in favor of the Cubs. The win gives Chicago a season record of 89-56.
The Cubs got a big at-bat from second baseman Tommy Ash. For the game, Ash went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Chicago a 2-0 lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Sorensen said after the game.
