Getting offensive support from Eric Hemphill, the Minnesota Twins topped the Los Angeles Angels, 9-6. Hemphill went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Twins. The winner in relief was Ken Poole. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 10-2. With the win, Minnesota raised its record to 79-66.
