Dodgers Stun Nationals, 8-5
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers get after it.
Behind the bravura of second baseman Ivan Jimenez, the Los Angeles Dodgers topped the Washington Nationals by the score of 8-5. Jimenez went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Dodgers. With the win, Los Angeles pushed its record to 75-70.
Omar Tanguma drew 1 walk for Los Angeles. The 32-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring walk off Alvin Janosky. It was his 91st walk of the season.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Los Angeles manager Giovanni Ciotti.
