Baltimore Tumbles Again, Falls, 5-2, to Minnesota
|
In the 5-2 Minnesota win over Baltimore, the impact of Billy Hinson was substantial. Hinson, who finished 4th in the AL in hits with 191 in 2108, went 2-4 with a home run. Roberto Aranda got the save, his 2nd in 5 chances. Minnesota goes to 86-60, Baltimore to 65-81.
Scott Wilhelm had a big 2-run home run for the Twins in the top of the fourth inning. With Minnesota leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Nick Keane, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2102 draft, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Twins on top, 4-0.
Hinson attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
