Chicago Sunk by Cincinnati, 4-1
|
Cincinnati Reds pitcher Kyle Gruhlke was all business, helping his team muzzle the Chicago Cubs, 4-1. Cincinnati reliever Mark Langseth snagged the win, upping his record to 9-5. Matt Whitlatch shouldered the loss. The loss makes Chicago 81-65.
Bobby Rossi came through for Cincinnati when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a two-strike fastball to right-center field, staking his team to a 2-1 lead.
Rossi told a Cincinnati Gazette reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
