Rangers Lose, 4-3
|
Washington and Texas duked it out and the Nationals came out victorious.
The Washington Nationals topped the Texas Rangers, 4-3, in National League action at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The standout performance belonged to Washington pitcher and Goleta, California, native Erik McFadden. The winner was McFadden. He threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Brian Gottstein.
Chris Rutigliano, who is tied for 4th in the NL in triples with 9, aided the Washington cause with a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder went 1-4.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said McFadden. "Successful pitchers do it."
