Toronto Loses, 6-3, to Seattle in 11
|
Seattle and Toronto duked it out and the Mariners came out victorious.
The Seattle Mariners beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-3, in 11 innings at Rogers Centre. Seattle first baseman Evan Hendry had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Alex Franco, now 5-6, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings.
Hendry had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 1-2 fastball from Seth Jinks, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Mariners a 6-3 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Hendry.
"Always feels extra good winning this kind of game," said Hendry.
The Mariners improved their record to 62-85 with the win over Toronto.
