Dodgers Deal Brewers 5-2 Defeat
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-2, at Miller Park. Los Angeles was led by 2107 Ben Celeste Rookie of the Year Award winner John Lamkin, who was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. Tommy Harris was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. The Dodgers bumped their record to 79-68 with this latest triumph.
Kyle Phillips had a big 2-run home run for the Dodgers in the top of the third inning. With Los Angeles leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from fan favorite Dave Zuwiski and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Dodgers on top, 4-0.
"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Phillips.
