Cardinals Lose at Home, 4-1
|
The Milwaukee Brewers stopped the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-1, at Busch Stadium. The Brewers got a big game from Ramon Carrion, who was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Gary Kennedy recorded the save, his 23rd. With the win, the Brewers improved to 64-84.
With Milwaukee trailing 1-0 in the top of the third, Carrion hit a fastball from Adam Hulst for a 2-run home run. It was his 27th home run of the season and put the Brewers ahead, 2-1.
"Makes our job easier," said Carrion, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
