New York first baseman Nick Rich contributed significantly to his team's 5-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Rich, who is tied for 10th in the AL in runs scored with 89, went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Yankees. Bob Lattimer was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 4 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts. Zach Rogers earned his 29th save in 32 tries.

New York used a clutch at-bat from Hugo Vitagliano to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Yankees ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Rich.

The win puts New York at 58-91.
