Astros Sunk by Mariners
|
The Seattle Mariners eked out a 3-2 win versus the Houston Astros at Safeco Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Tom Frye. He was terrific. Yvain Natta nailed down his 27th save. Seattle has won 4 straight, while Houston has lost 3 in a row.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Mariners had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when second baseman Bryan Abramson hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Xavier Walls and made the score 3-0, Mariners. Abramson was 1-4.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Houston manager Tony Monterosa. "The effort was great."
