|
Atlanta turned a good effort from starter Bill Black into a win over the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. The final score was 4-1. Black, now 3-8, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Tim Pye was credited with the save, his 37th in 40 tries.
Carlos Carballo, the former first round draft pick , had a direct impact on the outcome. Carballo contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Atlanta up, 2-0.
