Milwaukee Gets 3-1 Road Win
|
The St. Louis Cardinals got a superb performance from pitcher Bill McEnerney, but the Milwaukee Brewers still won the game, 3-1. McEnerney threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Elijah Blackwell picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-4. He struck out 3 in 6 innings. The last-place Brewers improved to 65-84.
Alex Flores came through with a big-time hit for Milwaukee. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Glad to get this win," said Flores. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
