Floundering Giants Lose 7th Straight
The San Diego Padres beat the San Francisco Giants, 6-3, at AT&T Park. San Diego second baseman Ron Jakob led the way. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. San Francisco has now lost 7 straight.

Jakob had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Alejandro Lozano, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Padres a 6-3 lead. It was the 19th home run of the year for Jakob.

"Things will change for us," said San Francisco manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon. "When things change, we'll get clicking."
