Orioles Drop 7-5 Decision to Blue Jays
|
The Toronto Blue Jays trumped the Baltimore Orioles, 7-5, at Rogers Centre. Toronto third baseman Marcos Iniguez was terrific. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Victor Urueta, who is a three-time All-Star, nailed down the save. The Blue Jays lead the American League East Division by 9 games.
Had Tom Monroe not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Monroe hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Blue Jays.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Iniguez told the Toronto Citizen.
