The Seattle Mariners picked up a win at Safeco Field, dropping the Los Angeles Angels, 6-5. Tommy Houston was the difference-maker. Alex Franco was the winner in relief. His record is now 6-6. The losing pitcher was Tony Sanchez. With the victory, the Mariners record stands at 63-87.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Seattle. That's when Jonathan Walker hit a 2-run home run off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Tony Sanchez to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Walker told the Seattle Chronicle. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
