Guardians Lose at Home, 5-3
|
The Detroit Tigers defeated the Cleveland Guardians, 5-3, in American League action at Progressive Field. Detroit pitcher Andrew Kleinke had a standout performance. Earning the save was Chad Crum. He's now cashed in 20 of 21 save opportunities. Detroit now sits at 70-80, while Cleveland falls to 60-91.
Detroit won the game in part because of Daniel Pereyra. The left fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Tigers ahead, 3-2. For the game, Pereyra had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Pereyra told the Detroit Chronicle.
