White Sox Come Up Short at Minnesota, 4-3
|
The Minnesota Twins did just enough to sneak past the Chicago White Sox, 4-3, at Target Field. Minnesota pitcher Steve Spadavecchia, in particular, had a standout performance. Spadavecchia, the winner, moves to 8-16. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 1 walk. Minnesota has now won 3 straight, while the White Sox have lost 3 in a row.
Catcher Oscar Vallejo made an impact for Minnesota, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Greg Earle in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Vallejo went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Chicago manager Bryce Reigns.
