Guardians Win in Glorious Fashion, 9-8
|
Behind the hitting of J.J. Kirby, the Cleveland Guardians stopped the Kansas City Royals, 9-8, in 11 innings. Kirby slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Guardians. The Guardians sport a record of 53-97.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With two out, Kirby hit a fastball from Dallas Roden for a solo home run. The Guardians, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Kirby.
