The Atlanta Braves reigned over the Washington Nationals in damp conditions.

The Atlanta Braves locked up a win at Nationals Park, knocking off the Washington Nationals, 9-3. On the mound for Atlanta was left-hander Doug Donaghey. He played a major role in the triumph. In 6.2 innings, Donaghey surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs.

Atlanta used the clutch hitting of Bill Lindberg to snag the win. The left fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Braves ahead, 6-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Doug Graff.
