Twins Fall Short, 4-3, at Chicago
|
The Chicago White Sox topped the Minnesota Twins, 4-3, in American League action at U.S. Cellular Field. The standout performance belonged to Chicago pitcher and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native Mark Willson. Andy Grupp was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. With the win, Chicago pushed its record to 83-68.
The White Sox got a big at-bat from second baseman Angel Baltazar. For the game, Baltazar went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Chicago a 4-2 lead.
"I like what I saw today," said Chicago manager Bryce Reigns, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
