The Cleveland Guardians weathered an outstanding game by Detroit second baseman Ryan Knee to topple the Tigers, 5-3. Knee was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. Pablo Iglesias was credited with the save for Cleveland, his 32nd of the season. The last-place Tigers have lost 4 consecutive games.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Billy Thrash? The Cleveland left fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Guardians on top, 3-2. For the game, Thrash had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
