Blue Jays Hand Orioles 5-1 Loss
|
The Toronto Blue Jays stymied the Baltimore Orioles, 5-1, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Dennis Desper had a good day at the plate. He was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Toronto. Josh Hawley snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-3 on the season. Ben Mills suffered the loss. Toronto has 3 straight wins, Baltimore 3 straight losses.
Toronto took a 3-1 lead on Desper's 47th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Presley Bolduc in the top of the seventh, propelled Toronto to the win.
Said losing manager Art Matlock: "Give the Blue Jays credit. They played a better game than we did."
