Rockies Top Brewers, 8-4
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies get after it.
Kyle Archibeque had a good game, but he could not keep the Milwaukee Brewers from falling, 8-4, to the Colorado Rockies at Colorado Field. The Milwaukee pinch hitter went 1-1 with a home run in the loss. Victor Gonzales picked up the win in relief for Colorado, while Pat McGeever took the loss.
The Brewers had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Rockies going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old center fielder Hans Cabedo came to the plate. Cabedo hit a 2-run home run on a 0-1 fastball from Milwaukee hurler Pat McGeever. It was Cabedo's 24th home run of the year.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Cabedo told the Colorado Observer.
With the win, Colorado has a record of 82-69. Milwaukee falls to 65-86.
