Riding the 2-hit performance of the 2106 AL home run champion Hideyuki Takahashi, the Houston Astros stopped the Texas Rangers, 4-2. Houston reliever Ethan Gordon picked up the win, upping his record to 5-4. Salvatore Ayala took the loss. Dave Driskill notched his 18th save in 23 chances.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Julian Rodriquez? The 23-year old third baseman Rodriquez stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put Houston up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"I like the groove we're in," said Takahashi.
