Nationals Bridle Braves, 3-1
|
The Washington Nationals got a magnificent performance from pitcher Jesus Duran, who muffled the Atlanta offense en route to a tight, 3-1 Nationals win at Nationals Park. Seth Kurkowski earned his 21st save in 26 tries. Washington, at 62-90, sits in 4th place in the National League East Division.
The Nationals got a big at-bat from shortstop Chris Anderson. For the game, Anderson was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Washington a 2-1 lead.
Anderson attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
