3-1 Triumph Takes Cincinnati to 101-51
|
Cincinnati and Kansas City played a hard-fought contest.
The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Kansas City Royals, 3-1, at Kauffman Stadium. Cincinnati second baseman Earl Boivin had a superb performance. He was 2-4 with a double. At 101-51, the Reds claim first place in the National League Central Division.
The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth when Boivin, who is tied for 4th in the NL in hits with 184, hit a run-scoring double. It propelled the Reds into the lead, 2-1.
"No one player deserves all the credit when you win," Boivin said. "And the same is true when you lose."
